In the dynamic world of construction, precision is paramount. Every component, from facades to windows, requires meticulous measurement and exact fitting. There’s simply no margin for error. For an apprentice like Yash Kumar at PSP Group, this reality isn’t just a lesson learned in theory; it’s a hands-on experience that shapes his journey and confirms the importance of his role.

Yash’s recent accomplishment in helping us to design and create 42 planters for a commercial development by Mace Construction in Canada Water stands as proof of the value apprentices bring to our team and the wider construction community. To ensure precision, before these planters were created, Yash and his team members crafted mock versions, ensuring that every detail was perfected before the final product was confirmed. This project wasn’t just a task; it was a challenge that demanded precision and expertise. Yash took it on with determination and skill.

“Working on the creation of the planters was the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life,” Yash reflects, his pride evident. “It was an incredible opportunity that allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge gained through my apprenticeship. I can’t believe I get to see them being installed.”

But in the world of construction, success isn’t just about getting the job done; it’s about getting it done right the first time. Demetriou from Leider Construction provided Yash with valuable feedback on-site, emphasising the importance of precision in every aspect of the project.

Receiving feedback directly from an experienced professional like Demetriou was invaluable for Yash’s development. It provided him with real-time insights into his work, enabling him to understand the significance of precision in construction projects. This hands-on mentorship wasn’t just about honing Yash’s skills; it was about instilling in him a mindset of meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Heath Hindmarch, owner of PSP Group, recognises the significance of apprenticeships in nurturing talent and driving progress. “Yash’s achievement is proof of the value of apprenticeships in our industry,” he remarks. “Investing in apprenticeships not only enriches our workforce but also strengthens the future of the construction sector.”

At PSP Group, we remain committed to providing opportunities for growth and development, empowering apprentices like Yash to thrive in their careers and make meaningful contributions to the industry.

Well done Yash, we’re all very proud of you!
