Pre-Coated Steel Rainscreen Cladding
GreenCoat® from SSAB is a pre-coated steel which can be 100% recycled thanks to its bio-based coating made from Swedish rapeseed oil. The natural qualities of this coating removes fossil fuel elements and contribute to fire safety classifications of A1 (fire), S1 (smoke) and D0 (spread).
The steel is galvanised, meaning it is dipped in a zinc coating for extra protection. It is available in thicknesses of 0.7mm-1.5mm and in sheets up to 6m long, as well as being available in a range of colors.
SSAB Zero® is a more sustainable alternative that is made from 100% recycled steel scrap and produced using an electric arc furnace powered by 100% renewable energy.
It has near-zero emissions during production without any mass balancing allocation of remission reduction or carbon emission offsetting. Furthermore, SSAB Zero® emits less than 0.05kg CO2 per kilogram of steel. Per tonne of steel, this equates to 50kg compared to the global average of 2,000kg/tonne – a major saving for your Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
SSAB Zero® is available in an S280 steel substrate and can be coated in the same sustainable, fire rated coating as GreenCoat® described above.
